Hi friends! đź‘‹
Welcome to my very first blog post here on K-Food & Cuisine! I’m so excited (and a little nervous!) to begin this journey with you. If you’re here, I’m guessing you’re curious about Korean food, love trying new recipes, or just want to learn more about Korean culture. Either way, I’m so happy you’re here.
I started this blog because I’ve always had a deep love for Korean food—not just the flavors, but the meaning and memories behind each dish. For me, food is more than just something to eat. It’s a way to connect with family, carry on tradition, and tell stories that go beyond words.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are in the kitchen, helping my mom and grandma make kimchi, or watching them prepare a big table for family gatherings. The smell of bubbling doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), the sound of sizzling bulgogi on the pan, and the joy of sharing food with others—these are the moments that made me fall in love with Korean cooking.
Living outside of Korea now, I realized how important it is to keep those memories alive and share them with others. I also found that a lot of people around me were curious about Korean dishes but didn’t know where to start. That’s when the idea for K-Food & Cuisine was born.
Here, I’ll be sharing:
- Easy, authentic Korean recipes you can try at home 🥢
- Tips on where to buy Korean ingredients (especially if you live outside of Korea!)
- Fun stories and cultural facts about Korean food
- Personal reflections and cooking adventures
As a Korean, I’m proud to share my culture with you through food. You can trust that the recipes and stories you’ll find here are rooted in real experiences and genuine tradition.
Whether you’re a total beginner or already love Korean food, I hope this blog gives you helpful ideas and makes you feel like you’re cooking with a friend. Let’s learn, laugh, and eat delicious things together!
Thanks for reading—and stay tuned for more posts coming soon!
With warmest wishes,
Jake Kim
